Fighting corruption - 'Anna' way or your way?

I was in a discussion with an Anna follower. He is taking part actively in the "Anna's fight against corruption". When I told him that I disagree Anna's way of dictating terms to an elected government as it can be a dangerous practice. My friend was so angry that he had to pay a  bribe for getting his work done. When I asked him "Why did you pay the bribe when you hate corruption?" His answer was "I wanted to get my work done quickly" When a salaried person, earning an average salary, can pay bribe of few thousands, to get his work done quickly, does he have the right to blame a business man paying in millions to somebody at higher level? I am sure that many of us would still be paying bribes, along with shouting for Anna, to get our work done. I am totally against corruption. But unless we are going to be the change, nothing can happen irrespective of Lokpal or JanLokpal. Anna has created an environment to vent out the anger of thousands of educat...

The URINE-A Theory

Unless proved otherwise, I would be the owner of this theory. Copying content for reproduction requires written approval. Copying it to your life does not require approval but I cannot be held responsible for the consequences. I know you are bit curios about the URINE-A theory. The theory simply states that UR(your) Response Is Not Required - Always. We have been always taught from birth, to respond to everything and everybody around us. In fact it is the first thing that a parent checks out immediately after birth. And there after we gets pacified, intimidated, challenged, and bribed for responding to everything and everybody. Some people considers it is their responsibility to respond (positive or negative) to everything. They feel that their response can assure best result or make things better. But most of the time ends up creating or inviting trouble for themselves or others. The remedy for this is to learn the art of ignoring. By doing it for the right reasons you are do...

Soft Skills vs Being Soft

I have come across an interesting complaint by an experienced professional that By learning soft-skills we have become really soft and people are taking advantage. This was a realization that many of us have misunderstood soft-skills are about being soft. Is it really about talking/writing softly and going to a non-reaction mode? I do not think so I would say that soft-skill is to know how to say what and when to whom. If shouting is the only way out. Go for it, if you think that works and the results/consequences are worth the effort. But remember, the analysis of the pros and cons and the decision-making, within no time, is something that we have to achieve. And how do we know this? As usual, life is a place where we do it first and then learn. Try and try and put some analysis and be ready for next time. And the solution is not generic. It depends on what you are, your knowledge, your abilities, your experience and your emotions too. I would say the best way to enhance your soft...

An open letter from Tr. Kasab (Rtd)

From, Tr. Kasab (Rtd) Cell # 007 VIP Block Arthur Jail Mumbai To, All Ex-Colleagues 3ft Bunkers, Under US Drone shadow Dear Friends, I am writing this to you from my retirement home in Mumbai. I am so sad to know that many of our colleagues are no more, when I am enjoying a cool life here. As usual I was going through the news papers, after finishing my breakfast. Again, one of our 26/11 team member was killed by the US forces. Hope I don't have to remind you that dying while hiding is not a great thing. The government or our parent spy organization, which failed to protect our Big Boss, definitely will not protect you. Sorry, I had to take a break as the doctor has come to check whether there are any issues with my health. It is laughable that the people who sponsor me here, has to wait days to get a doctor appointment. :) I suggest you to request the government to hand over you to India. I can assure you that all your needs (food, cloth, shelter, security) would be met unt...

The Palatial Gods

The great RabindraNath Tagore wrote :- He is there where the tiller is tilling the hard ground and where the pathmaker is breaking stones. He is with them in sun and in shower, and his garment is covered with dust. Put off thy holy mantle and even like him come down on the dusty soil! Here is the response of the new Gods:- O dear Gurudev, We do not agree with this. We are the new Gods, With millions of devotees around the world We live in palaces which they call ashrams We travel in chartered flight We sit on big thrones With people at our feet The ones, who control nations, stoop before us. The real blessed ones wait for our blessings The ones who are pasted on to the chairs of power, kneels before us And the for those who questions are impressed with our charity All of us have some master pieces Some produce gold, some are magicians and many are yoga experts Some has magical hugs many are great healers Some preaches sex and some practices it on followers People travel so far to...

Relativity : A Balloony Remix

This is the story of some balloons in a party hall. They were brought here for an event. After the event. Everybody left but did not take the balloons away. When they woke up next day morning, the balloons were surprised that hall is empty and everybody except them were taken back. Ah! not bad there is enough light and breeze percolating inside for them to float around. The biggest balloon of the group said.. "I think the stadium really looks attractive because of us. So they wanted us to be here forever". All balloons agreed to this statement and they all agreed him to be group leader. They respectfully called him Shoo (that is how they release air). They happily floated around as much as their strings allowed them. Days passed by. The balloons enjoyed the cool and tension free environment. They had sufficient breeze to float around and they happily competed among themselves and some managed to rise above one another, based on the judgment of Shoo. Months passed by, al...

Cricket, Stripping and a Publicity Interested Litigation (PIL)

Judges are complaining about PILs? Yes, our judiciary is overburdened by PIL. Going through some of the PILs, I wondered many times, what is the public interest in this? If I had some academic interest, would have tried to find the percentage of PILs that has got some public interest. Some people really misinterpret PILs are Publicity Interested Ligation or Politics Influenced Litigation. The recent one being unknown(atleast to me) model promising to strip for the Indian cricket team, if they win world cup. Helloo.. did someone take it seriously. If some news papers have some unfilled columns and if some masala new channels have some free airtime, they can advertise it. Let us analyze the public interest in this. General public opinion 1 - Who is this girl? Publicity stunt. Not interested. 2 - Good for cricketers. Not interested as I can see it live 3 -Cricketers opinion - We have better options ;) But, what about the self-proclaimed moral police of our society. Yes definitely t...
