Is it difficult to throw it in the bin....

No .. I don’t intend to be philosophical. It was message that I read around the lake nearby  my office, where many other companies are located. And the message was about the plastic cups that are thrown on the bank of the lakes through the wired fencing it has. There was also a message that they have cleared 8000+ plastic cups from there. Of course, the lake donned a new cleaner look. The pavements looked decent with more dust bins. The more important thing in the message I noticed is that, nobody is claiming credit for it….Either organizations, or individuals. It reminded me of a narrow road that I take to office.  In a stretch of 200 metres, there are at least 3 banners which say, "Road asphalting work inaugurated by ...." some names with photographs. I believe these people are the ones we elected and pay from our pocket. They take huge bribes and put their poster at our expense. Ok coming back to the cups, these cups are thrown by educated young people who ...

Would this ever get Un'Quota'ed???

Quota is the most quoted word in Indian politics. It looks like there is no unquote for this.  It is an irony that we claim to be a secular state and we officially discriminate our citizens in terms of education, employment, and promotions etc., based on religion. All our secular political parties fight to make it bigger and bigger. Those who are not in favour give their silent approval. All political parties have one voice when it comes to vote banks. We have also seen fights by different group to be labeled as backward. This is soon becoming a menace to our society, deviating from its original intentions. Most of the people who are reaping the benefits of quota system are enjoying it for generations. Based on the current trend, they will continue to enjoy it for generations to come. This is definitely going to create a different class in Indian society. Common people without reservations do not have any hope in getting into government jobs. There are millions of people in o...

Sachin Tendulkar and India's top 2 difficult questions.

I think the top 2 difficult questions, India is facing at the moment are 1. Should Sachin retire from cricket? 2. Should we give him a Bharat ratna (the highest civilian honour in the country) award? My answer to both the are 'NO' Why should we bother about when Sachin should retire? As per BCCI policy, there is no retirement age for cricketers. Let him play as long as he wants. Let him contribute where ever he can. But, the Indian captain should be able to decide whether he fits in the playing 11. And the selectors should decide whether he is good enough to be in the team. That is the reason why we have these guys around and paying them so much for this job. The yard stick applied for all in the team should be the same, as long as ICCI amends some of the playing rules for Sachin. For eg:- Sachin cannot be given out in 90's. If Sachin scores a century, the team gets a bonus 10 runs etc.. Regarding Bharat Ratna, I would say that It can be given to Sachin if the criteria is ...

Why this Kolaveri Kolaveri dude!!!

Why this kolaveri di!! Yes, the latest sensation on internet. Sung by Dhanush.. The actor son-in-law of the only Rajanikant.. No... Im not reviewing the song or its popularity. But I liked the line "Why this kolaveri   kolaveri di" and the style in which he sings it. Kolaveri as per the definitions on web, it is murderous rage. All of us have it within us. It is just that the intensity varies from person to person. And the form it comes out is also different. But once it comes out and settles in or time passes by.. most of us would be thinking atleast for once.. "Why was that kolaveri kolaveri". So the significance is to think in present "Why this kolaveri". Is it required? What is the use/impact? It is human to have kolaveri. Some expresses it in words. Others in actions…. And some people keeps it within, troubling themselves. None of these cases are good for us or others… so   it is a good question to ask ourselves when :- Something is boiling deep insid...

A Quit to Success

We know the real life school/college drop outs turned inventors/millionaires. Still, failing and quitting are two terms that are not appreciated. It is even bad if there are no convincing reasons. Quitting doesn't always means failing. Especially, when you know what you are going to do next and the attitude to support it by hard work and commitment. And when you redirect the momentum (in quitting) towards your new path, achievements are just milestones in your path. A recent phone conversation took me a little long down the memory lane. Though it is a bit long, the pictures are very clear and sharp in my mind. A college student taking   a decision to quit his course in the middle. Completing his school education as an average student, he had gone for higher studies with a niche specialization during those days. Somehow, he was not able to cope with new environment. One fine day, he took a decision to call it off. And I happened to be one of the first few to hear the news. During...

No Admirers? No problem.. Abusers would do.... - A case study

People abused him and his art so much. Those who praised were all sarcastic. And for sure what ever I have seen looked below standards. Yet he is one of the most popular person. His work is watched by millions of people around the world. He is giving so many television interviews. He has the popularity of a celebrity. If he is to be believed he has received millions from google, for his youtube popularity.         Like his work this guy also looks to be dump while talking and acting. But I believe seeing is not believing. When everybody laughs at him..he would be laughing within himself. For sure, he has a strategy.           Most of us enjoys to relieve our frustrations/disappointment by laughing/criticizing/abusing somebody who tries to do something. He is milking the most out of this human psychology. He pretends to be dumb. He creates art form, that looks below average...

I or U? The take away from Steve Jobs

I don't use ipad/ipod/iphone I am no way related to Steve Jobs I never worked in apple I never used Mac... But still I am saddened by the news that Steve is no more I pray that his dear and near ones are able to cope with the loss Yes, "I" was intentional in all the above sentences. That is what he has stood for. And that was the success of his life. And that is what we all appreciate him for. I admire Steve for the passion he had, the beliefs(that saved him) that he stood firmly, the creative mind that he was, and the fight he had with life. It is to be noted that life was able to defeat him only once.. And that was on his last day on earth. The take away from Steve Jobs is that..Follow your dreams passionately. Never give up. And if you don't have a dream to follow.. start working on it... As Steve rightly told "Follow Your Heart, Don't Live Someone Else's Life" Remember, Apple has many failed products, that has big dreams and hard work...
