Modification or momentary glorification? We are watching...
India's biggest and most expensive reality show is over. And
it is time to deal with the realities.
One of those is that we have appointed Mr Narendra Modi to
lead our country for the next five years. I have to confess that I am not a big
fan of Modi or any of our politicians. But I am very much impressed with the
emphatic win that he had. The most impressive element is that it was
meticulously planned and executed with utmost precision. Congratulations Modi & team!
Like most of the fellow countrymen, I haven't paid much attention
to any of the claims and promises made by any of politicians or parties.
Neither have I gone through the non-stop blabbering, except keeping track of
the headlines. And, this time I did not have preference for any party/person to
lead our country.
Having said that, I feel happy about the elections results
for multiple reasons.
1. We do not have to face another (hope so) election for
next five years. After all, the white money spent goes from our pockets which
eventually get converted to tons of waste paper, carbon monoxide and very high
decibels of noise farts. And for all the black money spent, they know very well
on how to get it back.
2. And the usual harvesting season for so called king makers
(with few pawns) suffered a bloody blow. The bargaining teams lost their jobs
too.
3. The vote bank politics has suffered a major hit as well.
In the past we have seen that most of the decisions were either taken or not
taken to appease different sections/regions of society/country. Hopefully all
political parties have realized that it not going to work anymore. We need to
see the country prosper and would dare to choose a different option. I am sure development mascot projection diverted many votes.
There are certain factors which brings some hope in me about
our new leadership. I just hope the resources are utilized in the right way for
something better.
I am not interested to know whether all the tall claims
about development are true. But seeing the craftsmanship that he has shown to
gain acceptance, set a target and achieve it, is remarkable. Overcoming the dissidence
within the party was a major milestone.
It definitely requires skills and if used in the right way it can help
our country too.
For the time being, he enjoys supreme power and the
dissidence brewers and bargainers have no choice but to shut up. I hope the arrogance
that he is showing is competitive arrogance in nature. Our politicians deserve
this kind of treatment and I hope it is used for driving things efficiently
Call it PR or marketing skills, he made those people vote
for his party who otherwise may not prefer to. And for his opponents it was the
other way around.
Like it or not, he is the new leader of our country which
includes people who may or may not have contributed. If he can take our country
forward with collective participation and without differentiation then we call
it Modification. Else it would be a momentary glorification and we have seen
many in the past.
And finally, there is a strongest positive signal this
country has given during this election. A superstar politician was stopped by a
young man from jumping a queue. More than his bravery, I am happy that the
people around supported him strongly. This is the change and the behavior which
should be consistent irrespective of who rules our country.
When we become the change, those who rule us don’t have a
choice but to follow.
Nice one buddy, simple and clean :)
ReplyDeleteOk think again why this appealed to me more was the thought... generally a blog with name like entropy reflects chaos but this one spoke and reflected a glimmer of hope... a bright side ... Nice one Sobi
