The Reddish Greens

As kids, have you played with small 'pit traps'? It definitely require some skill to dig a pit and camouflage it with dried leaves, grass and sand to make it looks like normal surface. The consequences are quite clear.

 While growing up, the same game takes different shapes and colours. The principle remains the same. Camouflaging the reality with things we would like others to see.

The Reddish Greens.

The sun has just begun to cast the lovely red rays over the small village. The village market is slowly getting busier. A gentle breeze just danced around with a very sweet smell. "Ah! Here comes the florist!".  "Looks like your roses smell sweeter day by day"

 "I give them my love and affection. And this is the way they return it" said the florist.

 He lived in the village with his lovely wife and kids. They worked hard in the small field which was converted to a garden. His small garden was full of flowers mainly red roses and jasmine.

They took care of them with love and affection and enjoyed seeing each of them bloom. In spite of being passionate and happy, he struggled hard to meet both the ends.

 One day, the richest man in the village approached the florist and asked him.

"Do you have green roses? It is my wife's birthday next week. She loves green colour. I would like to give her a surprise with big bouquet made of green roses"

 "Sorry sir! I do not have green roses. And also I have never seen any" replied the florist

 "If you can get it, I will pay you 10 times the red roses"

 He loved the red roses. But 10 times the price is a great opportunity for him. He looked the red roses. “May be this would look better in green”.  He started thinking about different ways to make the red roses green.

 Finally he approached one of his friends, who is a magician. The magician agreed to help him. He gave him a magic transparent sheet.

 "Wrap this on any red item and it would appear green. But be careful. Once it is turned green, the colour cannot be reversed."

 The florist went home and made a huge bouquet of red flowers and wrapped it with the sheet. He was surprised to see that all the red roses have become green.

 He called it to his family and explained them about the fortune in waiting. His little daughter took the bouquet in her hand. She smelt it and said "Dad, this is not smelling like roses"

"I don't care dear. It is going to get us a lot of money."  But the little one was not satisfied, she couldn’t think of a rose without the sweet fragrance.

The rich man was so happy to see the green bouquet and he rewarded him more than he promised. The news has spread across and he got more and more orders for green flowers.

 Green roses have got him fame and money. Finally, he made a pair of glasses with the magical sheet.  And the red vanished from his life forever.

He became very rich but had lost the passion in growing flowers. He got bored wanted explore the city in his new car. To his surprise all the signals were green and he did not have to stop in any signals.

The journey continued happily until he crashed with a big green fire engine. The last thing he saw was green fluid from his body spread on his car glass. And then it was dark.
