Chapter I
Induction


Ashok could not understand what has pierced his toes and entered his body. It was like an electric charge slowly but steadily moving from toes upward his body. He made a futile attempt to make some noise. Once the charge crossed a part of his body, it did not belong to him anymore. He was slowly losing the possession of his organs one by one. The last thing he felt was the electric charge entering his heart. He could still see the light in the room which made way to darkness soon.

The electric charge came out of his head and formed into a big globe of white light. Then it got extended to a big stream of light which looked like a tunnel. He heard a voice. Welcome Ashok!! You have reached the entrance of the eternal world. I am the logistics manager, please follow me. Eternal world?? Ashok muttered.. Am I dead??
Yes my dear..For the last time in your life!!
"What do you mean...the last time? You mean that I dead many times in life??"
"Not physically my friend.." followed by a sarcastic smile
"Where are you taking me?? Heaven or Hell?
"Hmm...I don’t know what you are talking about. But it is the same question asked by all human beings who come here."
"But... Mr Logistic Manager. I have heard..."
"I would request to hold your questions for some more time my dear. There will be an induction session for all the new comers. I believe all your questions will be answered. Anyways I believe it is just like the thousands of names given to God"
He was lead to a room which had the label "Induction room". It was a big room filled with too many souls like him. He could neither identify anybody nor find out the religion, sex or nationality.
He thought about his daughter who is in the US. Suddenly she appeared on the monitor in front of him. She is typing something on her IPad. He took a closer look. She is updating her face book status.
It read "Friends...my friend, philosopher and guide is no more in this world. I will miss you dad. We will be watching his last journey in Skype" Within seconds there were 100 likes for her post. Also there were comments. Some said WOW. Some said Nice. Some showered condolences.
She turned back to her husband and said " Honey my post just crossed 250 likes. Please make sure you record the proceedings in Skype. I have a very important meeting to catch up"


Ashok thought about the day she was born and every steps of her life. The anxiety, the tension, the joy
His thoughts got interrupted by a lovely voice. The voice identified itself as the HR Manager- Eternity.
"Friends, I congratulate you on completing the onsite assignment to earth and returned to the place you belong. It is time to assess your performance and appraisal. You would be evaluated based on your performance during the time spent on earth. Your future life is going to be a continuation of what you have done on earth.
You will continue to enjoy everything that you enjoyed on earth and were created by God
You will not find anything that you enjoyed on earth and were created by man
You will keep something that you always cherished the most
You will enjoy things that you enjoyed sharing"

It is time for your 1x1 with the Master.

Deepak is spending a lazy Saturday morning, with his late coffee and newspaper. From front page to last including sports is more to do with politics, power, publicity and posters, than the real news. For those who are not interested in this, news paper reading has become a ritual. The shameless sensationalization of  every incidents tragic, comic or trivial has made it a monotonous affair.  He is almost back to sleep. A loud scream put an end to his thoughts and half sleep.
