Would this ever get Un'Quota'ed???

Quota is the most quoted word in Indian politics. It looks like there is no unquote for this.

It is an irony that we claim to be a secular state and we officially discriminate our citizens in terms of education, employment, and promotions etc., based on religion. All our secular political parties fight to make it bigger and bigger. Those who are not in favour give their silent approval. All political parties have one voice when it comes to vote banks.

We have also seen fights by different group to be labeled as backward. This is soon becoming a menace to our society, deviating from its original intentions. Most of the people who are reaping the benefits of quota system are enjoying it for generations. Based on the current trend, they will continue to enjoy it for generations to come. This is definitely going to create a different class in Indian society. Common people without reservations do not have any hope in getting into government jobs.

There are millions of people in our country struggling for their survival but still not a part of any quota system. As they do not represent any mass vote bank, they will be ignored forever. I have seen cases where studets joining a limited seat(12 nos) course on reservation (with 50% mark when the general cut-off is 85%). And then dropping out mid-way to join another course (again on reservation).

I am aware of the evils of caste system in our ancient society. And it might be still continuing in some remote corners of our country. But I have neither discriminated anyone nor seen any discrimination so far. Due to this reason, I will have a problem is continuning in any part of our society, it should be dealt with law. Not by extending the reservations unsceintifically and unresoanably. I don't find any justification for a person and his coming generation to be treated specially(by our government) through out his life, just because of the family he is born.

Instead of adding reservation in education, employment & parliament, our country should make sure that all our children (irrespective of caste/creed/sex/financial status) get the best learning experience and environment. Treat them as equals; let them try their best to achieve the best.

  2. Sob's you have a flair for writing. Keep it straight from heart and not worry if someone gets judgemental. Mark twain somewhere i believe said " What is Man? A Man is a noisome bacillus whom Our Heavenly Father created because he was disappointed in the monkey"

  4. Bro nice attempt to say quota is bad experience for upper caste .you mentioned many things about quota but mentioned one thing about caste and caste based atrocities.I just want to convey that you have written what you have experienced about quota and thats very good ,but have you ever tried to find what are problems faced by SC/ST/OBC still in this era ? you have mentioned that caste system might be still continuing in some remote corners of our country ,we all know 70 % India still lives in villages and caste system is a tradition .please try to google some thing about this ,you can find hundreds videos about caste based atrocities in youtube .I think For 15% population 50 % reservation is enough and you guys are enjoying that .Reservation is representation for particular caste .If you still think this reservation is a main cause of caste system in India.Google "Brahmin samaj in North america " you will find a website which for brahmin people. These brahmins wants to retain caste system as -it-is even in america . What could be worst thing than this.

    1. Thanks for your comments. I am totally against caste based atrocities. They should be treated as criminals. Do you think increasing quota can be a solution for this?
We should outcast anybody who think they are superior because of their religion... At least I do. I respect behaviour not religion. My close friends are atheists, when I do believe in God.

It is foolishness to carry the caste tag in this century..even more foolish to go and cry for it in another country.

Btw, What I am against is..
A highly paid government officer's kid reaps the benefits of reservation where as a poor jobless man's kid needs to suffer
